Choosing a Spirit-led life
Love. It always comes down to love. Love for God. Love for those around you. Love for the lost. Love for yourself. There is a song by Hillsong that I love (let’s not get in to the controversy there :) ). This particular song gets me every. single. time. It is called As you find me and one of the lyrics is “you loved me as you found me”. The simplicity and truth in this wreaks my heart.
I don’t know about you, ladies, but I was messed up when God called me to that altar the first time. I was broken, dirty, confused and certainly not looking for a relationship with God. It makes no sense that He would want me. The only explanation is the deepest, greatest love one can imagine. Deeper than I could understand until I experienced it fully many years later. As Ephesians 3 puts it, it is so deep and wide that we must have power to comprehend it!
So how does this connect to living a Spirit-led life that we have been discussing this week? Well, to put it simply, we either have more love and devotion to God or more love and devotion to this world. One will always win out. So, what one is higher in your life? Where is your heart? Where does your devotion fall?
I encourage you to spend some time on these questions. Don’t be afraid of the answers. Don’t run from the harshness of truth. Don’t be scared to confront your heart. Time spent on these questions could have more impact on your life than you can imagine.
